ESP Professional/Career Advancement Opportunities

New Jersey’s Community Colleges (NJCCC)
NJEA, in partnership with New Jersey’s Community Colleges, through the Consortium for Workforce & Economic Development (NJCCC), offers on-site training to ESP members.
Now you can earn the Certificate of Competency in Educational Support Profession leading to a college credit certificate and Associate of Arts degree. Three programs are being offered. These are: Social Services (in place now for general ESP membership categories), Paraprofessional Management (just developed for secretarial and clerical office professionals) and Child Development / Education (currently under development for paraprofessionals, teacher aides, assistants, etc.). These programs were developed jointly by NJEA and community college NJEA staff members, with a large portion of instruction coming from NJEA ESP focused workshops.
Additional certificate and degree programs will be developed for each of the following ESP career categories: custodian/maintenance, food service, security, and transportation professionals. Go to www.njworkforce.org to view, and print out the NJEA/ NJCCC program brochure.
Obtaining this NJCCC program, on site, in your district is easily accomplished. Through your local association, contact your administration (and board of education). Show and explain to them the components of the NJEA brochure. For further information or to bring any of these programs into your district, please contact:
